Customer Disservice

Gah! Customers - I hate them. Useless people who turn into monsters as soon as they are on the other side of the counter.

Customer Service is...

The ability to smile genuinely while fantasising about stabbing some one's eyes out...

Keeping calm no matter the situation, be it blood, snot, pus or piss...

Courage under fire...

Keeping your cool when all you want to do is grab their credit card details, stalk them, and set fire to their house...

Not spitting in someones drink, even though they deserve it...

...

That's all for now, no doubt I shall think of more next time i'm at work...

Garage Sale Blues.... Also Emergency Room Drama

Sigh... What a shit day. It started out early with my bird making a rather large racket. When I go to investigate guess who is sitting, cage-less, in front of my balcony door? Yep, you guessed it, Grey.

My day then continued with me setting up for my garage sale, and doing the washing. Which is when the accident occured, and then continued to grow worse, and then landed me in the Emergency Room. But I digress.

I then proceed to get caught up in a conversation with my house mate and distracted by artery clogging bacon. Ad then it happened, I stepped over to hang the washing out, my foot went one way, my ankle the other and I was flat out like a lizzard drinking. It hurt like fuck, and i told the general vercity that very loudly, but the pain receded. So i went on with the rest of my day.

The garage sale tuned out to be a massive fail. I had one customer who was more interested in how much I paid a week for my house then in what I had for sale, and then the clouds started coming over. By lunch I was feeling rather down, but was cheered immensely by the arrival of The Rat Lady with my two beautiful new babies whom I have named Rodolphus and Rabastan. They are beautiful and the tiniest things. And they seem to be getting alone with Grey, which is a blessing. During this time my foot had been throbing, but nothing too bad. My Recently Freed From Impending Doom Besty then arrived and we proceded to chat, bitch and cuddle ratties.

We then proceeded to walk to the local to grab some lunch. Bad bad bad idea. By the time I got there I was having issues. By the time I got back, I could barley walk. As soon as I sat down my foot seized up. At 3.00pm on a Saturday do you think I could find an open Doctors?

No.

So it was up to Emergency for Mal. Who then waited. And waited. And waited. And was then seen by a great and friendly team.

And has torn the ligaments in her foot.

And is now on crutches.

Personalised Plates

God you guys must be wondering what's up. The girl who posts twice in 2 years has now made 4 posts in 2 days.

As the title suggests I’m toying with the idea of personalised plates for 'Ducky' [This is the at-the-moment-name for my car - due in the majority to the colour atm]. So far I have ideas along the lines of...

MAL15    ($500)

NLN86   ($415) [But really, what's the point?]

MNR58  (A/A)

NVY86   (A/A)

CZY88   (A/A) [I want to say that this is from Firefly, but I’m not 100% - I thought it may have been on one of Jayne's shirts]

MNX86  (A/A)

KTX37   (A/A) [Does anyone else get this one?]

ZIM86

GIR86

I can have either 3 letters and 2 numbers or 3 or each and they can be in any order of 3 - i.e. AAA111 or 111AAA etc.

Retail On A Weekend

Gotta love retail on a weekend. Here are the best of the best from Saturday.

C:"What do you mean you're sold out?!"
... I thought I was pretty clear... Which part of SOLD OUT do you not understand lady?

Back story:
Woman came in before Christmas and brought a griddle. We had this whole big conversation about how she couldn't get a refund if she changed her mind. She brought it anyway. She then cam back today and demanded a refund.

C: "I brought this and I’d like a refund."
M: "Unfortunately we don't do refunds if you change your mind, but I can offer you and exchange or a credit note."
C: "Why don't you do refunds?" {We have previously gone over this}
M: "It's store policy. It says so on the bottom of your receipt." {Add in some more arguing and sneering}
C: "Fine I’ll have a credit note."
Bitch then comes back an hour later and demands a refund from my manager. The whole subject is rehashed again.
C: "It's my statutory right to have a refund"
HOLD UP! First of all, you being a bitch is not making me EVER want to serve you again and by your behavior thus far you have cemented in me a natural born hatred of you and guaranteed that I will be as rude and as slow as I possibly can be the next time I am forced to serve you. Secondly... AUSTRALIA DOES NOT HAVE A BILL OF RIGHTS YOU SILLY FUCKING COW!

In the end, she got the refund. Just goes to show that if you are enough of a fuckhead - you may get your way. Or you may get banned from shopping in the store ever again. I was hoping for option two, but not today unfortunately.

C: Can I put boiling water in this?"
M: "No, that’s a carafe. It's made of glass and for red wine and possible fruit juice (at a stretch)."
C: So do you think I could put boiling water in it?
M: "...No."
C: "Could I put it on the stove?"
M: "It's made of glass. No."
C: "Oh I thought it was made of Perspex." Customer begins walking towards plastic jugs.
C: "What about..."
M: "No. The only thing you could possibly put boiling water in would be Perspex, and all we have in that are the short measuring mixing jugs."
C: "Do they come in a jug shape?"
Customer picks up plastic oil bottle.
C: "Can I put boiling water in this?"
M: "NO. I'm sorry - we don't sell anything you can put boiling water in. Maybe try Myer."
C: "Oh, do you think they'd have something?"
M: "I'm sure they will."... Evil Smile.

M: "There will be a half an hour wait on gift wrapping."
C: "What! Why?"
M: "Because I have a backlog of wrapping to do, all of which has been waiting more than half an hour."
C: "But I’m leaving now! I need to go."
M: "Then I can't gift-wrap it for you."
C: "Fine!" Customer then proceeded to storm out.

Can't wait to see what tomorrow may bring...Not.

Conveyance Quandary

Good friends I am in a bind. What to do? What to do? I'm currently struggling with a dilemma...

What colour do I want my car?

I've always wanted a 240Z in black and chrome with forest green leather interior. However have brought a 1958 Morris Minor 1000 that is begging me to do it black and chrome with cherry red vinyl (cutting costs I know - but what the hey) interior.

I could always just go for basic black on black as well. Or, if it comes to it, black and white.

Does anyone have an opinion or comment? I'm a bit stuck. Black and red is smexy smexy, but sometimes over done. Arg! I know not what to do!

Wild Weather

Once again we have been slammed by wild weather. Streets near us are starting to flood and I was forced to run through a hail storm to save my bird (Which was typically ungrateful). The weekend isn't looking too crash hot either. I will try and post some photos tonight. I can only hope that the storm has missed The Gap, but I know that that's impossible. I hope everyone is inside and safe. X

Life So Far...

It has come to my attention that despite having a paid account i have dropped the ball in relation to posting. Not that anyone reads the shit i post anyway. I hope to soon be posting some of the fiction i have written, if i can ever figure out the tags that is. Well good luck to me is all i say.

Work at the moment is insane - my contract comes up for renewal soon (3 Weeks?) and I've no idea what will happen after that. I also completed uni in a little under 3  weeks, so that two will be fun. Not.

Hope all is well with everyone.

X

SupaNova

Well this post is about two week late, but what they hey *Shrug* no one else has update theres... thats my excuse anyway.

Well BrisNova has once again come and gone and it was FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!!!!

Below is a mish-mash of posts from the weekend.

Wednesday -
So I spent a shit load of money last night (money I don’t have mind you) on stuff for SupaNova. I was supposed to buy white pancake makeup, but the Costume Store had run out (like a year ago). So I ended up with liquid Manic Panic ’Goth White’. I’m heading to the chemist tonight to buy a translucent setting powder as well. I also picked up some material for a table cloth (for the party on Saturday night). A very expensive hair piece and some general make up supplies.
Arggg. This is supposed to be a fun weekend, not a stress fest, but I can’t help worrying about my Friday night costume, and the party and this bloody assignment I have for uni which apparently is due next week. I didn’t even know I had to do it. http://x.myspace.com/images/blog/smileys/depressed.gif
My wonderful boss from work had brought in all her leftovers from her parents diamond wedding anniversary on the weekend. I am now the proud owner of some patty cases, I large 20 person Pavlova, two tins of caramel and a thing of cream. Yay me! That has cut costs significantly. I’m very lucky she was there. Now I just have to swing by the second hand store and pick up some silver trays and I’ll be all set. Apart from the actual making of the food that is.

Thursday -
Went out to dinner with The House [plus Meg], Lauren & Dan, and Drew. It was great fun, and tho we were a little late, the sushi was great. We had much fun with the gossiping and the weekend plans. Finished up around 10 with my AWESOME housemate Wham dropping everyone back to their respective dwellings, then coming back and taking Meg home.
Wham – you are made of WIN!

Friday –
I spent all day Friday jumping around like a freak due to my excitement about the coming weekend. After work I headed to the Preview Night at SupaNova (RNA Showgrounds) to volunteer my time. I decided to wear my cyber geisha outfit (cause Meg chickened out and left me ALONE) which seemed to be a win. I had more photos taken on Friday night then I’ve had at any other SupaNova! It was very much the ego boost. Then I stood around for ages (like 3 hours), avoided people I didn’t like/ are to socially inept to take the hint, and ate some pizza (Very bad idea – pizza is the Devil). Saw Marco & Rena and the Cool Shite Team and headed for drinks in the Valley with some old school friends. Still in the cyber geisha outfit mind you.

Saturday –
Today was the day of normal dressing. Though my hair was pretty awesome, I seem to have a thing for buns at the moment. Lol. Must be my repressed desires springing forth in my locks. Spent almost all day with the Cool Shite guys in the JB Room. Met Blunty for the first time [Hi Blunty], ran into Marco and Rena again [Hi guys], and got yelled at by some random because I asked him to move. Wanker.
I finished volunteering today at four so that I could get home in time to pick up the glasses and make party food. However I did not take into account that Aven would get lost on the way to the main entrance. Gah. Anyway. So my party was gatecrashed [Woe to the mini cupcakes!] and then the other half of my actual guests turned up. Which was grand, and much fun was had by all. Plus, there were jelly shots! J
It was a win all round.

Sunday –
Dressed as a Goth Lolli today and as I was at the con early [like 8 freaking AM] I decided to explore some of the stalls. I had a chat with Marianne De Piers, brought a book from her [Got it signed] and then caught up with Ego Freaky [whom I met on Friday night in the Valley]. Sunday saw me with an actually break, so I ran around the con for a bit, then got lunch [Gotta love them Ekka chips], and had a gossip with Marco. Also, got yelled at again, this time by a family whom I asked to move. Gah – what is the world coming to? Went home early again so as to return the glasses and persuade Stacey to come to the After Nova party with me.

The After Nova party was held at the Pig & Whistle on Eagle Street. First time I’ve been there, and probably the last, the prices were not user friendly, though the wedges were nice. Much drinking and gossiping and drinking and meeting of famous people went on. And some more drinking. Also I MET JENNIFER FALLON. Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....
And then there was more drinking.
And then we went to the After After Nova Party.
But there was no more drinking.
Then I realised that I had to be up and on my way to work in 3 hours. So we wobbled to the overpass and flagged down a taxi.
 ...
Three hours later, at Bowen Hills train station, I decided the wedges hadn’t been that nice after all [Note: I also decided this on the train, and at work. A lot. I don’t think I like wedges anymore...]

Bored...

Well the dreaded Valentine’s Day has come and gone and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. A few surprise messages... But all in all a bearable day. My friends and I celebrated in true dateless style with a Miserable Valentine's Celebration. It was a good night. Much booze, including a drink fountain, good red food and some very awesome movies.

Also, a birthday shout out to Z! Happy Birthday dude! Hope the book is going well.

In response to the question ' How did you spend Valentine's Day?' The answer would be 'Alone and lusting after someone who does'nt lust me back.' :(

Ouchys

I'm soooo sick. Have been up all night vomiting and some. Not sure why though. It wasn't the two drinks I had before I went out that’s for sure; even I’m not that much of a Cadbury. Am going to blame my aching arm. I had a fun visit with the Dr yesterday and got a shot vaccinating against HPV, the second of three, which hurt way more than the first one. So now my arm, wrist hand and neck are aching like a bitch, I can’t sleep, and can’t seem to keep anything down. Got some other news as well. Have been referred elsewhere for some tests. I find myself slightly worried. At least all the symptoms are spot on. And no, I'm not pregnant. :P

Volunteer work is going well. I'm doing some extra hours this weekend for a training day and then another two days next week. Why is working for free so exhausting? I find myself dead after two days of volunteering. Then I’m faced with three more days of work. And I have to get another job this week. I think I’m going to die. Damn Credit Card, damn OS trip, damn interest rates.
I’m supposed to be going to lunch with a friend today, but as I have been vomiting don’t think that’ll be the best idea. Oh, I’m getting a new housemate as well! My travel buddy from OS has just moved back to Australia. This will be great, one more friend close by (I’m trying to cultivate them, like flowers) and our rent will go down. It works out well.
Well that’s about all my exhausted body can conjure up for now.
Cheers

Friday Night Cosplay

Oh dear god... Short, so short. But sorta spiffy in a red and black PVC way. And... Short.

Well, Mugumii leaves for Japan on Tuesday, which is, incidentally the same day I start my volunteer work at P&P Chermside. Excited in a poor-and-getting-poorer way.

Currently watching a StarGate marathon.

One More Was One Too Many

Blah! Went out last night against my wishes. Got drunk, thought I'd have just one more. Sigh, it was one too many. Why oh why did I have to eat Tacos for dinner? And carrot, though there's always carrot and you never remember eating it. Sigh. Well, at least I didn't become overly loud or get naked. It's the little things that keep you going.

Am getting one of my SupaNova costumes today - very excited! Well I should be getting it, if my poor pack-mule can get herself free of Oxley. Horrible place. Horrible.

My Beautiful Tricksy Littlebird!

Grey Bird the newest addition to our family hopped on my finger today! My beautiful little ball of feathers has learnt a new trick. I'm so proud!

Also, I started my scrapbooking project today- I'm scrapbooking my Year 12 Formal. It brought back all those precious high school memories... I'm sure anyone who wasn't 'Miss Thang' knows what I mean...

Introducing... Grey Bird!

Just a short post to let everyone know I now have a new bird! His name is Grey-Bird. And as you can probably guess... he's grey. My little lovebird baby is 3 months old and vaguely tame. I'll have to put some effort in but he seems to have a nice little disposition. I shall post some piccys of my little darling soon. Long live Grey-Bird! May he soon lean to jump on my finger.

Get Ready For A Rant!

What is it about some people that they just have to be annoying? I mean really, can't they just TAKE A BREATH and STEP BACK!!! [Preferably over a cliff {or even better a pit filled with bamboo stakes, to be eaten alive by rats}]. Some people just make me soooooo mad. And the really annoying thing? I'm doing it to myself! These people are so stupid/pig-headed/bigoted that they will never change, never admit they are wrong, and are just soooo Gods curst irritating! ARG! So really, the only person being affected my HATE and LOATHING is me! This is due mainly in part to the fact that they live in their own little world [and may possibly hold the delusion that they are in fact a TRANSFORMER]. Sigh. I just... Some people really irritate me.

I feel a bit better after letting that out. I'm by myself at work, so I have no one to rant at.

Sorry.

I'm okay now.

Really.

Bird Cage

This afternoon I get to pick up my birdcage (looks more like a mini aviary) from Arana Hills. In two weeks my new birds will come from the breeder in Sunny Bank and I will be the happy owner of two Lutino Fisher’s Lovebirds.

This picture is taken from the website of Sunnybank Aviaries [http://www.sunnybankaviaries.com].

Now all I have to do is wait for my hairless mice and I’ll be set.

Well, hope everyone is having fun (I'm at work, a bit bored).

Cheers

5 Days To Go

Well folks there are only 5 days to go until I officially leave the Great-God-Damn-Hot-And-Sunburned-Country (Oh yes - I got burnt through the shirt I was wearing yesterday) and hop on over to the UK for 6 weeks. I am rather excited about this, as it will be a nice break from my extreme working week (55hrs and counting). Everyone keeps asking why I’m not more excited and I've try to explain that all my excitement got used up on my first OS trip at the start of the year. I went to New Zealand. Beautiful place, but it looks like home once you been there for longer then a day. Nice hot springs though. So yes, my excitement levels are down somewhat but I am still looking forward to going.

Everything's packed except for X's psaltery, which I have been informed, is not under any circumstances to go in my suitcase. My connecting flight has also informed me that it is not under any circumstances to go in my cabin luggage. So how to get it over...? Looks like its UPS all the way.

NOTE: Never fly Lufthansa if you have an instrument. They are unsupportive and rude. Grrrrrrrrrr

Other then that things are going well. I have my Russian Great Coat, many pairs of thermals, and a giant Russian hat that many rabbits died to make. Ahhhhhhh. If nothing else I will be warm.
